The Opportunity The UTSC Library’s Digital Scholarship Unit (DSU) invites applications for an enthusiastic, skilled candidate to fill the position of Digital Projects & Technologies Librarian. Reporting to the Coordinator, Digital Scholarship Unit, the successful candidate will contribute in diverse, collaborative teams to the design, development and delivery of innovative and forward-thinking DSU service offerings. Required Qualifications A degree from an accredited Master’s level program in library and information studies Knowledge of diverse metadata/cataloging/archival descriptive standards and controlled vocabularies, metadata harvesting and crosswalks, as well as ontologies. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently Demonstrated, strong analytical and organizational skills Knowledge of standard web technologies (XML/JavaScript/JSON) Demonstrated capacity for working in a diverse, fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative, and dynamic environment Strong written and oral communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working with software developers and/or systems administrators Experience with/Demonstrated interest in Open Source software and Open Access communities Experience with/demonstrated interest in DevOps practices & tools Familiarity with application development languages and tools Experience with content/digital asset management systems and repositories (Islandora/Drupal/Fedora preferred) Demonstrated success in a key role in digital scholarship projects Relevant experience as an academic librarian Salary and Terms of Appointment Salary and appointment level are based on experience and qualifications.
