The Web and Digital Scholarship Technologies Librarian is an integral member of 
a team managing and continuously improving an array of IT systems and services 
supporting the mission, vision and values of Raynor Memorial Libraries and 
Marquette University. The incumbent also supports and anticipates the 
technology needs of faculty and students seeking digital scholarship solutions 
to their research activities.

Specific responsibilities

Actively participates within a team supporting the IT needs of library staff 
and patrons
Leads the development of modern, sustainable, and accessible library web 
interfaces in a variety of platforms including OUCampus, bepress Digital 
Commons, CONTENTdm, and Springshare products
Provides application development for AR, VR, XR and 3D integration into digital 
scholarship research projects
Provides infrastructure support for digital scholarship projects led by the 
Coordinator of the Digital Scholarship Lab

Required Qualifications
ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science
Minimum 2 years related experience
Experience with OUCampus or another website CMS environment using XSLT
Knowledge of AR, VR, XR, and 3D printing integration tools such as Unity
Knowledge of digital scholarship development platforms such as GestureWorks, 
Omeka Everywhere and Drupal
Knowledge of web analytics and accessibility (WCAG 2) standards
Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the 
ability to collaborate with diverse constituencies
Successful project management experience
Strong commitment to customer service and support
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of web technologies and metadata manipulation and scripting languages 
(e.g. MySQL, NoSQL, Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP)
Knowledge of semantic metadata formats and standards (e.g. SPARQL, RDF, 
BIBFRAME, schema.org)
Experience with Data Carpentry framework and practice
Experience leveraging library APIs
Experience with workflow design and automation in a Reclaim hosted cloud 
environment

Appointment will be made at the Assistant or Associate Librarian rank.
