The University of Maryland Libraries seeks a progressive, career-minded Senior 
Desktop Coordinator to join its Library Technology Services team. 

The Technical Coordinator supports and maintains in-house technology equipment 
and IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, 
and upgrading all organizational hardware and software while ensuring its 
optimal performance.

The holder of this position will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely 
and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and assistance where 
required.

The Technical Coordinator will be a training resource for the Desktop Support 
Technicians and Help Desk Staff. He/She will also be responsible for end-user 
support of Library-wide client-server applications and will troubleshoot 
problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via work orders) in a timely and 
accurate fashion.

The successful candidate will develop, manage and administer all aspects of the 
library’s desktop environment.

The Technical Coordinator is responsible for all services related to support of 
both Mac and Windows desktop computers.

The Technical Coordinator is expected to work independently and as a member of 
a team, to analyze and solve problems, and to manage projects. Work requires 
initiative and judgment and is often expected to be performed with little 
supervision.
