Join us for this new SELF-PACED Amigos Library Services course!

GIS and GeoWeb Applications in Libraries

This is an asynchronous, self-paced course: asynchronous learning does not
require real-time interaction; instead, content is available online for
students to access when it best suits their schedules, and assignments are
completed to posted deadlines.

This course will be available from January 7, 2021 8:00 am through January 28,
2021 5:00 pm CST.

Through hands-on exercises, pre-recorded demonstrations and lectures, students
will receive a thorough overview of mapping resources that will enhance and
expose their library's resources, as well as help them achieve their own
personal goals.

Since the emergence of easily accessible dynamic online mapping tools, there
has been a drastic increase in geographic interest and awareness. 80 percent of
digital data available to us as information users have a geographic component.
Geographic Information System (GIS) technology is widely used in research,
teaching and learning to communicate information in a map format.

Now you can learn about GIS and GeoWeb applications in libraries at your very
own pace!
