Stanford Libraries is seeking a full-time Head, Metadata Creation to join the 
Metadata Services management team.

The Head of Metadata Creation provides strategic implementation and operational 
management of bibliographic metadata policies, practices, workflows, and the 
tools to support them. As part of the Metadata Services management team the 
Head of Metadata Creation is responsible for directing the creation of 
descriptive and authority metadata for books, serials, audio-visual and 
electronic resources in a wide range of languages. This position is also key to 
developing and leading the implementation of new workflows in response to new 
data models (linked data, including BIBFRAME and its extensions) and new tools, 
technologies, and metadata environments, including Wikidata, FOLIO, SHARE-VDE, 
and Sinopia, our linked data editor. These goals will require active 
participation in community- and standards-building around library linked data 
at the national and/or international levels. The position reports to the 
Associate Director of Metadata Services.
