The Applications Support Analyst will support, test, and implement a variety of 
library information systems to enhance and maintain overall library 
administration functions and services that support the teaching, learning, and 
research activities of students, faculty, staff, and alumni; Act as tier 2 
support for library systems applications; assist and troubleshoot library staff 
with access issues and workflows; Consult with library staff on data issues, 
assist library staff with reports authoring from FOLIO and other library 
systems using CQL and SQL syntaxes and RESTful APIs; using applicable 
programming tools maintain library systems applications and their related third 
party systems; and, integrate third party systems with the library systems. 
Train library personnel and other parties on campus using library systems and 
applications as needed or assigned. Maintain & document overall library 
systems integration and utilize gained knowledge and expertise to guide other 
library personnel regarding library processes, data usage, overall systems 
integration, and cross system dependencies. Coordinate installation of 
patches/upgrades of applications with systems librarian, systems administrators 
and systems specialists, functional users, and vendors.

Job Summary/Basic Function

Reporting to the Systems Librarian, the Applications Support Analyst provides 
tier 2 support for library systems, which will include, but not be limited to, 
FOLIO, EZproxy, VuFind, Matomo, DSpace, Illiad, and Open Journal System (OJS).


Required Education

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information systems or 
related field.
Required Related Experience

Two (2) years successful employment in application administration and support.
A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and 1 years’ 
experience may be considered in lieu of the BS + 2.


Desirable Related Experience

Four years full time experience as a support analyst/specialist or equivalent 
preferred. Strong background working in higher education, library, museums, 
archives, or other similar organizations.
