Columbia University Libraries seeks applications for two Unix-focused 
infrastructure engineering  and systems administration positions in its IT

The Libraries IT division (LIT) provides application, compute and storage 
services for staff and other library units as well as the larger University 
community. LIT manages both traditional and cloud-based services in support of 
the University's mission to "support research and teaching on global issues to 
advance knowledge and learning and to convey the products of its efforts to the 
world". Within LIT, the Library Infrastructure Systems group is responsible for 
our ILS (Integrated Library System) and related systems, Unix server support 
and long-term preservation of uniquely held digital content.

Associate Application Systems Developer: Link to posting

 Working under the general supervision of the Head, Library Infrastructure 
Systems, Associate Application Systems Developers provide operational and 
development support for local and cloud-based Unix infrastructure platforms and 
applications. They maintain complex software and server environments using 
automation and adhere to best practices; coordinate with other systems 
administrators and application developers to resolve technical issues and 
incidents; and collaborate with colleagues to provide a flexible, secure, and 
reliable infrastructure.

Application Systems Developer: Link to posting

Working under minimal direction, Application Systems Developers design, 
develop, and implement complex local and cloud-based Unix infrastructure 
platforms and applications. They deploy, integrate, and maintain 
vendor-supplied and locally developed applications and services; gather 
requirements, provide technical analysis, and improve processes to improve the 
reliability, flexibility, and resilience of systems and platforms; and, 
collaborate on projects and related activities with other groups in the 
Libraries, the University, and outside institutions and organizations.
