What’s your Bibframe data look like? - Current State and Challenges of
Bibframe Linked Data Interoperability

As Bibframe is adopted across the library industry, the topic of
interoperability is one that must be addressed so that metadata continues to
serve the purpose it as for decades in the MARC format. This webinar will
showcase three guest speakers who will share their thoughts on various aspects
of interoperability followed by time for questions and discussion. Nancy
Lorimer of Stanford will share her deep understanding of cataloging workflows
to describe how cataloging requirements and expectations in Bibframe relate to
interoperability. Kirk Hess from OCLC will discuss the technical aspects of
interoperability when working with RDF data compared to MARC record data.
Finally, Jim Hahn from University of Pennsylvania will discuss his work with
differing “flavors” of Bibframe data given that ShareVDE’s Bibframe data is
slightly different than the Library of Congress’s Bibframe data.
