Hey Karen, Have you successfully run the mysql-config[1] script yet? And included the mysql41_flag parameter? That'd be the first thing I checked.
If you don't get much help from this list, the Fedora users list[2], which has recently moved to Sourceforge, should definitely be able to get you up and running. Hi, I was wondering if anyone had experience installing the digital library software Fedora version 2.1 . I'm trying to get it setup here and am having problems when I start the fedora server. I get the following error message in my log files. <log xmlns="http://dlrg.cornell.edu/logging/SimpleXMLFormatter/1/0/"> <severe time="1173211272377" thread="10">fedora.server.storage.DOManager : Error while attempting to check for and create non-existing table(s): java.sql.SQLException: Server connection failure during transaction. Due to underlying exception: 'com.mysql.jdbc.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure due to underlying exception: ** BEGIN NESTED EXCEPTION ** java.io.EOFException .... What I can understand from this is that it is having problems connecting to MySQL but I don't know why exactly. I'm trying to use Fedora with a MySQL 4.1 database and have double-checked the username and password for the database by logging into the MySQL database with the relevant username/password. Can anyone help? Karen -- Karen A.
