Search Extended, Head, Library Systems: McIntyre Library is seeking a Head, Library Systems, a probationary tenure track faculty position to begin August 1, 2008. Required qualifications include an ALA-accredited MLS or international equivalent; server administration experience; familiarity with SQL, Visual Basic; professional experience managing an automated library system; documented evidence of successful management of web and systems projects; knowledge of library web design and scripting languages; demonstrated commitment to professional development and potential to meet the library's tenure and promotion requirements. Academic library experience, in-depth understanding of technological trends and developments in academic libraries, ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems, experience with SFX and MetaLib, experience with ILLIAD and other electronic information loan software, and familiarity with remote patron authentication are all preferred.
