For display and maybe cataloging, you might take a look at Greenstone, 
http://www.greenstone.org/
. It imports all sorts of formats and the Greenstone Librarian
Interface lets you do the cataloging. There's lots of tutorial
material. The barrier to entry is pretty low, so it is also good for
just getting experience with digital library software.
