The award-winning Johnson County Library seeks an innovative, curious, 
customer-focused Lead Programmer interested in working with the Library's Web 
Content Team, IT colleagues and Library staff to develop the next generation of 
library applications to enhance internal workflow, streamline processes, and 
delight patrons and staff.

The Lead Programmer is responsible for developing and implementing annual and 
long-range application and Web infrastructure development plans and practices 
to support the overall goals, objectives, and parameters established by the 
Johnson County Library. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective 
communication, complex decision making and project management skills-including 
organization, coordination of duties, and accomplishment of goals.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and experience with software 
development (at least 5 years), project planning and management (at least 2 
years), and Web administration (at least 3 years).  Expertise with the 
following: database servers (MS SQL Server, My SQL), Web Server software (IIS, 
Apache), IDE (Visual Studio and/or Eclipse), Version Control software (Team 
Foundation Server or Visual Source Safe, Subversion, distributed version 
control such as Mercurial or Git), Programming Languages (including C#, VB.NET, 
ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, JavaScript), .NET 2.0 Development Libraries, Expert in 
Object Oriented Design including the use of design patterns and UML. Expert 
knowledge of HTML, CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL, AJAX, and .NET Framework.

Preferred: Master's degree Library and Information Science, library experience, 
expertise with VMWare environments, familiarity with content management and 
blogging software such as Sharepoint, Drupal and WordPress.
