***apologies for cross-posting***

Greetings, all!

Just wanted to let everyone know about three events at Annual that are
sponsored by the LITA Drupal Interest Group:

Preconference: Getting Started with Drupal
Friday, June 24th, 9:00-4:30, Convention Center Room 359
**Registration required at additional cost**
ALA Connect Schedule Link: http://connect.ala.org/node/137546

This preconference session will provide a thorough introduction to the Drupal
content management system. Attendees will create Drupal sites in a sandbox
environment, covering the basics of content creation, user management, themes,
modules, and security. Previous web experience helpful, but not required.
Concludes with demonstrations of innovative Drupal sites, including library
sites, library intranets, and an electronic journal. Participants should bring
their own laptops to fully participate.

Drupal IG Annual Meeting
Saturday, June 25th, 1:30-3:30, Convention Center Room 242
ALA Connect Scheduler Link: http://connect.ala.org/node/137470

Four presentations about library-related Drupal projects (an intranet, mobile
projects, and ILS integration) for users of all levels from public and academic
libraries. Presentation summaries and speaker info can be found on ALA Connect:
http://connect.ala.org/node/144883

Concurrent Session: Drupal Fail Panel and Group Therapy
Monday, June 27th, 1:30-3:30, Convention Center Room 274
ALA Connect Scheduler Link: http://connect.ala.org/node/137553

Drupal, the open source web content management system, is often touted for its
extensibility and flexibility, but these same characteristics make Drupal
development rife with error. You may be used to presenters bragging about their
successes, but join these panelists to hear about the blind alleys, wrongheaded
approaches and downright failures they've experienced in their work with
Drupal-and maybe learn something from their mistakes!

Hope to see you next week in NOLA!
