ALCTS' Metadata Interest Group seeks proposals for presentations for a data 
management program at the ALA Annual Meeting 2012 in Anaheim, CA.

This program will delve into various aspects of data management and its 
implications for libraries. We are seeking implementation examples of: 

What types of data management services will be provided to the academic 
institution as a whole? 
How much responsibility do libraries have? 
What role will metadata librarians and metadata take? 
What are the digital preservation issues? 
What role will IT take in relation to libraries concerning data management? 

Proposal ideas could include: 

Data management plans
Development of data management teams
Data management standards and guidelines development for researchers Examples 
of metadata manipulation, schema, and management for datasets Examples of 
digital preservation efforts for data sets IT and library collaborations in 
effort to manage data
