The Elihu Burritt Library at Central Connecticut State University invites
innovative and energetic applicants to fill a full-time, tenure-track
librarian position that will serve on the Library’s Information Systems and
Resources team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety
of tasks that successfully respond to the research needs of CCSU’s
students, faculty, and staff.  Candidates are expected to be committed to
multiculturalism and to working with a diverse student body.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Leads the library in the development, organization, delivery, and
assessment of library learning and technology services, programs and
resources for faculty, staff, and students;
• Participates with other library professionals in the oversight,
maintenance, and development of the library’s web presence, including HTML
pages, content management systems (LibGuides, Wordpress, Drupal,
Contentdm), and other web applications;
• Develops successful partnerships with teaching faculty and other campus
units to integrate the library’s digital collections and services with
campus learning initiatives.
• Coordinates all library wide digitization projects;
• Assists with the administration of the following systems: All Springshare
products (LibGuides, LibAnswers, LibAnalytics), Libchat (Chat reference
system), Metalib/Primo (Federated Search & Discovery), including staff
training and support;
• Maintains and develops mobile technologies;
• Liaises with the Serials/Electronic Resources Librarian and the
Electronic Resources Specialist as needed;
• Provides technical support for the library’s Integrated Library System
(Millennium) and Interlibrary Loan management software (ILLiad) in the
absence of the Systems Librarian;
• Shares with other library professionals in the oversight of electronic
resource management including budgeting, selection, evaluation, access, and
trouble-shooting;
• Provides assistance and technical support to library staff for the
creation of learning aids such as screen casts and library guides;
• Participates with other library professionals in guiding the library in
the selection of new technologies and their implementation;
• Provides knowledge and expertise associated with the university’s course
management software;
• Acts as liaison with the Centers for Teaching and Educational Technology
as well as the University Information Technology Department.
Required Qualifications:
• American Library Association accredited Master’s degree in Library
Science or equivalent;
• Experience relevant to digital resources management in an academic
library;
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding  of library digital technology
and collections;
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of emerging technologies, such as
mobile applications and cloud computing;
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills;
• Commitment to serving culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse
communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Innovative Interfaces Integrated Library System including
its Electronic Resources Management  module;
• Demonstrated commitment to positive user experience;
• Experience with Ex Libris’ SFX link resolver and  A-Z list administration;
• Experience with discovery layer technologies.
