Our ideal candidate has the following: Competencies: * Organizational Skills * Adaptability * Research and Analysis * Communication * Teamwork and Collaboration Knowledge: * Specializedlibrary system, particularly with regard to the basic processing of records and data, system development, database management, information searches, maintenance of modules and applications, and Web services * Knowledge of the capacity and functions of a discovery tool * Knowledge of programming languages and Windows operating systems (e.g., CSS, html) would be an asset To be considered you must have: * a Master's degree in Library Science or in Library and Information Sciences from a recognized university, or a combination of education and extensive experience directly related to the position may also be considered. * experience working with an integrated library system * experience managing and/or coordinating projects involving various stakeholders. * extensive experience designing solutions that meet operational needs * experience working with IT suppliers and experts would be an asset * experience implementing and maintaining an integrated system would be an asset Candidates retained in this selection process will be required to obtain: * A successful second language evaluation (Bilingual staffing- imperative: CBC/CBC) * A successful pre-employment screening Additional Information: * This selection process is open to Employees of the Senate, the House of Commons, the Library of Parliament, the Office of the Senate Ethics Officer, the Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner, the Public Service, and the public * A written exam may be administered * Qualified candidates from this selection process may be considered for determinate or indeterminate positions requiring similar competencies at the Library of Parliament * Satisfactory references are an essential condition of appointment * Education and experience requirements will be used as part of the initial selection process * Proof of education is an essential condition Brought to you by code4lib jobs: http://jobs.code4lib.org/job/10619/
