While completing my CS master's, I was working as a grad student at SunSite, and was asked to develop an OAI repository for the university's special collections (OAI was in alpha/beta then). That was the first I'd heard of special collections... and my intro to the library world. After I finished that degree, I took a staff job in the library, developing and supporting digital libraries. I figured as long as I was there, I might as well get the library degree to go with it... and here I am. You never know where life will take you, do you?
