Be inspired.
The Texas Conference on Digital Libraries is delighted to welcome Bess Sadler
from Stanford University Libraries as the keynote speaker for 2015. An open
source advocate and self-described library "geek," Bess Sadler is Manager for
Application Development at Stanford and was formerly Chief Architect for the
Online Library Environment and Research and Development Librarian at University
of Virginia Library. She is a co-founder of several successful open source
software projects including Blacklight
(http://projectblacklight.org<http://projectblacklight.org/>) and Hydra
(http://projecthydra.org<http://projecthydra.org/>), which are used by
libraries, museums, archives, and cultural institutions around the world.

Learn.
The full TCDL 2015 program will be chock full of workshop and demo offerings,
but the Program Committee is especially pleased to offer a special
pre-conference training opportunity on
Karma<https://conferences.tdl.org/tcdl/index.php/TCDL/index/pages/view/karma>,
an open source tool for converting data from a variety of formats into Linked
Data.

The workshop will introduce the basic capabilities of Karma and provide
attendees with hands on training in the tool. The workshop will take place
Sunday, April 26 from 1-5 PM in the Perry-Castañeda Library. The cost to attend
is $25. Space is limited so register
today<http://utdirect.utexas.edu/txshop/item_details.WBX?application_name=LFGENLIB&component=0&dept_prefix=LF&item_id=119&cat_seq_chosen=02&subcategory_seq_chosen=000>!

Network.
TCDL 2015 will introduce an exciting new opportunity to gather info, extend
conversations or just take a break with colleagues: the TCDLounge! We've
arranged a comfortable area for attendees to check email, watch or deliver a
demo, chat with a friend from another institution - or your own! - or just
settle in with a cup of coffee. The TCDLounge will be open during conference
hours. You'll even be able to arrange times for meetings or demos using a
sign-up board and the Twitter hashtag #tcdlounge!

Stay tuned for more news about the full program schedule, coming in mid-March!
