ok, so cnt.scrollComponentToVisible(cmpLastVisible); didn't work however 
wrapping that with callSerially() did work

 Display.getInstance().callSerially(() -> { 
 if (cmpLastVisible != null)
 cnt.scrollComponentToVisible(cmpLastVisible);
 });
