In the latter case, then yes there would be an urgent problem to deal with. However, if it's only a matter of not being able to specifically ban nicks containing that character, then it's not really a big deal, although it definitely should be fixed eventually. If you really need to ban someone with a \ in their nick, just ban them based on something different from their nickname, such as their hostname or user@host ... -- Aurorian
