If there is a firewall setup ( afaik there isnt) no one with root access to the server can locate it. has anyone got any other ideas on how to solve this?
or is there a way to disable ident checking like on some other ircd's

firewall could allow outgoing TCP connection on port 113, or send back a
error packet when ircd tries to do identd... both says solve the delay.
