Hello, I am Banjo on Undernet/IRC (Mark W.) - Project Manager/Admin of the User-Com Documents Project.
Some of you know me, some of you don't and some of you like on routing-com and coder-com may not I don't know, but anyways I am asking this to ask for your help in an area of interest to me. Something I would ask that everyone think on and send me some ideas and feed back from each list if you could. Especially the training list and the documents list if they would! Recently User-Com had a Mentors meeting for their trainees. I was reading over the logs and saw Cyn asking different Mentors how they handled their trainees and what information they also used to help them. I saw at one point where she said that each member of user-com should know every facet of information on the web pages for information to help users. I then saw that some of the Mentors said they used different docs off the Documents project for information and saw that some said they asked their trainees to write small IRC FAQ docs or such for them as part of their training process. So here is what I am asking of each of you from various lists. I think we have a good amount of knowledge on the User-Com Documents web page, but I will also say that there is a tremendous amount of room for improvements in docs and new ideas for new docs. So what I would ask is that each member from each list if they could or would all around Undernet and CService, go to the documents web site (www.user-com.undernet.org//documents <http://www.user-com.undernet.org/documents> ) and look over the docs that are there and tell us areas we are lacking in or areas that each of you personally would like to see documentation about that may not be there for the users and the trainees. I am sorry for this long email, but I just think that this is something that needs said. We are currently updating all the docs there for accuracy and up to date information as it has changed. When we have finished this, we will be starting new docs just as I have mentioned above in the email. So with your help could everyone think on it and let us know those areas of improvement you think we need in docs and information so we can have the best informed users and trainees to help new users and old alike. I appreciate your patience and hope to have compiled a very long list of everyone's suggestions back soon for my tasks/progress reports that I keep records of.
