Jeff is on SLUG for self promotion, i.e., promotion of his business
interest. That's all.

Which business is that, Oscar?
Well it may be Debian related or Ubunto related. What else ?
Maybe you're employed by Debian or Ubunto advocating
Companies. Why would you discourage other Distros becuase
this is contrary to spirit of SLUG which is really, advocating
Linux, not one or two and excluding others.
I think you'll find I've been very actively
involved in SLUG (as a contributor, committee member, president, and regular
speaker) for much longer than any single business interest or commitment.

Many are active but other than yourself they are constructive.

You're stooping pretty low for a minor vendetta, Oscar.

On this list you said that I do not know 'language design' and
'systems admin'. I did not know where this came from. This
baloney.

To tell you the truth, whilst starting to work here in Sydney I've
never been out of work until I retired. In fact, I've work in
the industry Non-Stop for 35 years. Never been out of work
and always in technical computing.

Whilst working, I can't work as a Sys Admin because my employers can't afford to
hire me as Sys Admin. I'm paid by them several times over.

They have to have me work in accordance
with my salary. Of course everybody working in the technical
side of IT knows Systems Admin processes and perhaps practising
it. In fact I teach recuits amongst others System Admin. You
can't give what you do not have.

So, I'm just wondering if you know what you were talking about
'language design' and 'system admin'.
