I should have mentioned that I figured this out by doing:
dpkg -L python-mysqldb
which had amongst other things:
/usr/share/python-support/python-mysqldb/MySQLdb/__init__.py
Since the module's __init__ file is in a directory called MySQLdb,
thats the module name.
