I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good, and preferably
relatively short, C course? I don't need to do basics, I can read and
write C already and understand and can use things like pointers, but am
more after a refresher and an intermediate level course, and even
something that will also lead to an advanced course.
They don't seem to be very common, in fact the only one I can seem to
find in straight C is at UTS (
http://it.uts.edu.au/course/shortcourse/programming/c.html ), although
they only seem run the course only when there's sufficient interest, and
I may have some constraints on when I can start. Has anyone here done
this course or a similar one at UTS? If so, would you recommend it, or
could you comment on your experience with it?
I did a C Programming Course about 15 years ago with Insearch, what was
then the UTS outsourced education arm. I found the course quite good,
but I doubt it is what you after.
You might check out one of the distance education providers, such as
Charles Sturt University, Monash University etc. and look for courses
such as:
Algorithms in C
Data Structures in C
I suspect they are what you are after.
You might find though that the best way to really get a leg-up is to
start, or join, a small Opensource project. That way you'll get some
peer review and some input from others.
