One thing that may be of interest is the following tool:

http://www.mkgnu.net/?q=scmbug

This will allow you to link code changes in a subversion repository to a
bug tracking system.  Then in the next release of Codestriker there will
be an option to generate a topic from a given "Bug tracker ID".

This is the system we use.  That way you can do merges using separate
bug tracker IDs in order to keep them separate.
