This alert is to make you aware that Microsoft is making Windows XP Service Pack 2 Release Candidate 1 available for download from the Microsoft TechNet site. There is no signup or nomination process required to access this download. Customers who download Windows XP SP2 RC1 will not be eligible for support through the technical beta program. However, Microsoft has created 11 new newsgroups to foster community-based support. Customers are encouraged to download and begin testing Windows XP SP2 in their environments through this release candidate.
