Ok I have changed the name, but it did not seem to matter. Below is what I
am working with now

The service is simply called efsService.cfc and the bean def for it is:

 <bean id="efsService" class="sys.efs.Service" singleton="true" />

The part of the efsService that matters looks like this:

    <cffunction name="init" returntype="sys.efs.Service">
        <cfset Variables.Factory = "" />
        <cfreturn this />
    </cffunction>

 <cffunction name="getBeanFactory" returntype="any" access="public"
hint="Gets the main factory object, this will help when creating objects in
this service that are not singletons.">

   <cfreturn Variables.Factory />

</cffunction>

 <cffunction name="setBeanFactory" returntype="void" access="public"
hint="Sets the main factory object so the methods can be used in this
service.">

   <cfargument name="beanFactory" type="coldspring.beans.BeanFactory"
required="true" hint="The main service factory">

   <cfset Variables.Factory = ARGUMENTS.beanFactory/>
</cffunction>

I am testing it to see if it outputs the bean factory from the service with
the call below, but the output is always an empty string.

<cfdump
var="#APPLICATION.ObjFactory.getBean('EfsService').getBeanFactory()#">
