Augusto Pinochet says the former Chilean military ruler no longer needs treatment and should find another place to stay. Grovelands Priory, a private hospital in north London, said in a statement Monday that Pinochet "no longer requires the specialist medical and nursing care," he has been receiving since undergoing back surgery. "It is now the responsibility of Gen. Pinochet's advisers to find alternative accommodation," the hospital said. There was no official word on where he would go. News reports said he is planning to move to a nine-bedroom home on a private estate in Surrey, southwest of London. The hospital's decision makes it tougher for Pinochet to plead he is too ill to stand trial on charges of genocide and torture.
