This is PANG with words from Alex: Mir has finally completed its re-entry
into the atmosphere. Sky News has reported that Russian Missian Control
announced the completion of the Mir Mission and also that debris has been
seen falling in the landing zone.
Although Mir has had many technical difficulties during its long life, it
and its Russian handler performed flawlessly during its final hours as Mir
made its final descent to the Earth.
For those of us who were privileged to have seen Mir with our own eyes,
this is a sad day.
