COLOMBIA - HOSTAGE SHOT BY FARC REBELS (DEC 07/AP)
ASSOCIATED PRESS -- Colombian rebels have killed a woman who traded
places with her father when he became ill during his kidnapping,
reports the Associated Press.
Members of the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC)
shot Melina Pereira three times in the back when her family was
unable to pay her ransom.
Pereira had been held by FARC since last April.
