Hi, I am a new user of collectd. I am trying to explore if there is a way of configuring collectd to work with nagios running on a different machine. I went through the documentation for collectd-nagios plugin and learned that one needs to pass the socket filename for collectd's unix sock plugin. This would suggest that collectd-nagios and collectd instance have to run on the same machine. It is a business requirement for us that we collect RRD files (using collectd) on a machine different than the one running nagios. Did anyone else face the same issue? Can someone suggest me a solution?
