Abstract: Amorphous oxide semiconductor thin-film transistors are transitioning towards commercialization for active-matrix liquid crystal display applications. They also appear well-positioned to meet the more demanding challenges associated with active-matrix organic light-emitting device. The objective of this talk is to review the origins and current status of AOS TFTs for display applications. This talk will be presented as a Keynote Address at the upcoming SID Display Week 2013 International Convention, Vancouver, CA, May 21, 2013.Speaker Biography: John F. Wager holds the Michael and Judith Gaulke Endowed Chair in the School of EECS at Oregon State University. He is lead author of a book entitled -Y´Transparent Electronics.¡ Transparent electronics technology developed in his group at OSU was licensed to Hewlett-Packard Company who has continued advanced joint-development with his group. This technology is finding emerging, high-value applications in flat-panel display thin-film transistor backplanes. His current research interests include transparent electronics, oxide electronics, metal-insulator tunneling electronics, thin-film photovoltaics, and nanolaminated metamaterials.
