Later this week I shall be attending the 2006 Linux Forum in Copenhagen, Denmark, [0] where I'll be presenting on OOo at two sessions, meeting the DA team, especially Søren and Claus, and meeting with business leads, reporters, and others. It will be an important event, with many interesting and well-known speakers. What's more, the organizers are intent on ensuring that it be used as a springboard to further interest in OOo as both a development platform and enduser application.

From my perspective, the conference gives me the opportunity to meet the DA team, to listen to problems, and to discuss how to resolve them. There are, I know, many problems associated with procedures--in code submission, handling, notification, integration, etc.--and the "core" teams are working on resolving them. But it's a never-ending process and learning details is very helpful. As well, learning of successes and of how businesses or governments are interested in OOo is obviously helpful.

best,

Louis
