Do you think people wanted to talk about Steve?

A:
Oh, definitely. Steve has such an impact on the people close to him 
-- his friends and colleagues -- that I think for some people the 
interviews were almost like a group therapy session. Steve has had 
such a tortured, tempestuous relationship with the people close to 
him. Most people who know Steve well will recognize his creativity 
and brilliance as well as his abusiveness and his cruelty. Generally, 
people have a very complex attitude toward him; it's exasperating to 
people that Steve can be evil when few people they've ever 
encountered can also be as inspiring.
