Was there? If was, that was so short period, that it could've happened
inside one <BLINK>.

David Siegel recommended making those zero-information "welcome to the site"
-pages in his "Creating Killer Web Sites" -book (1996), so maybe he is
partly responsible for the annoying phenomenon.

Hmmm... If I recall this correctly, Siegel even had some kind of statement
of reasons for his recommedation... "It's a tunnel that gently guides the
visitor to the web page", or sumthin'...
