I worked with a big programmable desktop scientific calculator that had 
Nixdorf tubes.  YEAH they're cool !  Why don't any modern designs use them, 
just for a megahigh coolness factor ?  Retro chic, don'tcha know !

But honestly, Nixies don't look so great when they're free-standing.
They need some kind of background, like matte black, that provides 
some contrast, to emphasize how cool they look, such as the metal 
details inside the tubes.

I downloaded the Javascript Nixie clock but there's something wrong 
with it, and I don't know Javascript, have a look at
