cool!! I've downloaded the trax and checked them out in Real. Surely sendmail reeled when thusly spake Jarmo Lundgren: > > http://www.triplo.com/ev/reversal/ > it's cool that he has at least ONE pair of both-forwards-and-reversed (Beatles' "Number Nine"), altho this example is not convincing, to hear the reversed version into "turn me on dead man" definitely requires a lot of info-add from the listener. the next example, Queen, is more convincing. altho he dismisses it as coincidence. theory #1: you wonder if maybe in modern music, when the lyrics seem to make no sense, perhaps they are composing and recording the "reversed" song, and then playing it backwards to find some words which don't really make sense as lyrics, but which will when played backwards give you the lyrics you really wanted. theory #2: of course, there's the theory that humans are born capable of producing and understanding speech in both directions, and only settle on one lateras an aspect of socialization, but that later in life the subconscious continues to both hear and understand such reversed speech, and also can generate it. we had _that_ discussion on this list a few months ago. there was a web sire where the guy took public statements and reversed then and found weird shit. 62 p.s. such comments on this page: "The message itself has religious overtones, contrasting directly with the overtly-sexual "Darling Nikki" which precedes it. Was the reversal meant to invert the message itself, or was it meant to hide an apology?" Why "contrasting" ? Why "apology" ? The writer must be American. Or maybe Taliban. Could listen to more Joan Osborne.
