Although I felt very refreshed after I first saw FC in theatre, it occured to me when
watching it on telly this week that it's not as anarchic, politically incorrect or
antagonistic as it would like to appear to be.

The word that started blaring in my mind while watching: "assimilation". FC is not
supposed to inspire people into social unrest even though it's displaying acts of
individual denouncing society, establishment and their values through tapping into his
primal instincts, it's providing an outlet for the social discontent and a safe
fantasy of having an active, countering role in society. By giving an illusion of
revolution being possible, it fills the mental need for it - hence redirecting and
calming the popular opinion.

FC is a good movie and I enjoyed it very much. It should be realised, though, that FC
is commenting on one extremity of western culture from within and that it has a
specific role in the entertainment psychology. It's not enlightened social commentary
- it's operating on the frontline of mass-biased popular culture and subliminal
sedation of masses. Still, the idea of overflowing energetic life through abandoning
chains of morality and realising natural essence, need and potential within self is
almost Blakean.
