Follow-up Comment #1, bug #12554 (project classpath):
Its already possible to extend the path. The value of the property
"java.protocol.handler.pkgs" gets prepended to the
default search path. So you VM van change its value if needed in
VMSystemProperties.postInit().
Is this enough support for you?
