I would like to keep the exported package versions in "packageinfo". It is
better than putting those versions in the .bnd file, because they belong with
the package. As far as using package-info.java instead, that to me is only an
alternative if we can convince the Bndtools developers that it's a better idea
than the current convention.
Regarding patch files, in general I would also propose to use plain patch
files. It's what all other Apache projects use, and so far most others that
have contributed patches. Like Bram said, not everybody uses subclipse.
