You could be eligible for a [free boiler

if you are a pensioner who owns your home and receives free boilers for
pensioners or other qualified benefits.
A new gas boiler costs about £2,300, so having one for free is a tall order for
retirees and low-income families. However, if your current boiler is broken or
faulty and meets the eligibility criteria, you might be eligible for a
government-funded grant toward the purchase of a new one through the
government's boiler grant programme.
The grant will cover the entire cost of the new boiler installation in some
cases; in others, a financial contribution may be required, but the total cost
of the boiler will be significantly reduced.
You will never be asked to repay the grant because it is now unrestricted.
Free boilers for retirees are available via the government's ECO scheme.
