From Airflow side - everything goes according to the original plan.

We decided to release the community-managed Chart together with Airflow 2.0.
Yesterday we published first Airflow 2.0 alfa and we are going to release it by
the end of the year. It has already gone through a number of fixes and
improvements as many people (including one of the projects we've done). I am
going to resume discussion in ASF now about the policies (there was a person
from OpenOffice who was very interested in the discussion and was on holidays
for three weeks and I was busy with 2.0). But the discussion is already
advanced and few iteration of the policy, now we will have to agree if some
other interested parties (including Open Office) are happy with it, submit it
to Legal, and get it approved by Board (but also any of this steps might fail -
I will be relentlessly pushing to get it through though). So here - everything
so far is according to our initial statements and plan.

I am not sure what happens with the idea of @thesuperzapper and @gsemet to
host the "stable" one elsewhere - I will not speak for them :)
