2 seconds, every 10 minutes. Do I get it right? Are we talking about optimising something tha takes 2/(10*60) = 0.3% of CPU potentially (and only if those 2 seconds are 100% CPU). My whole engineering background tells me that optimising things makes them complex and it really makes sense to optimise something when the result of the optimisation brings some real improvements. So let me add additional question - WHY do you want to optimise this? What are the benefits you want to achieve? Does it actually change anything for your setup?
