@thesuperzapper is right it's said explicitly in the extraPipPackages block on the readme in that repo. However I'm not quite sure how writing the pip install in a dockerfile can save me from this, except it's easier to catch that the base image tag is out of sync with any pip dependencies. We use argo, so I haven't actually seen those warning messages from helm. To me it's still a bit of a puzzle how a pip dependency turns the table on the main application and pulls an effectively overwrites it. Seems quite wild.
