[~toopt4] What does {{ps auxww | grep airflow}} show? Your problem may be 
related to https://gist.github.com/Eronarn/c5bc2df607d168d6fda3a70700c941d9

But if the others in this thread could confirm if you are having the number of 
airflow scheduler processes growing over time that would help
