> We have just wasted several hours trying to troubleshoot this and only solved it by accident, then we found this issue. Why is something as crucial as "these options exist but they're actually completely ignored" not in the [documentation](https://airflow.apache.org/docs/apache-airflow-providers-smtp/stable/connections/smtp.html)? Because nobody added it. This project is created by 3000+ contributors and a lot of the documentation is updated and extended by those contributors. And contributing documentation is super easy. The best thing you can do not @EndymionWight is to click the link you pointed at, then click "Suggest a change on this page" and PR will be opened for you automatically, where you provide a change proposal how to update the documentation you need. Since you know exactly what the problem was and where and how you would look for the documentation about i) - you are probably the best person in the world to explain it to poeple lilke you, to prevent them from loosing their few hours. You are the best also because you just experienced it and you do not have all the assumptions of the people who spent more time on it (specifically maintainers), Especially that those are people who spend their nigths and weeksends mostly on their voluntary time, away from their families and day jobs to release a software that you can use for ABSOLUTELY FREE with NO LIMITATION.. I think contributing back such documentation is absolutely least people like you @EndymionWight can do, to thank those people (and also become one of the 3000+ contributors to Airflow. Can we count on your help there @EndymionWight ? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
