If you have an idea to add a new way how syntactic sugar should work, please propose it at airlfow devlist - see community tab on how to subscribe - and you should prepare a well thought discussion start there. Eventually any change like that should be proposed - after discussion on devlist - as an "Airflow Improvement Proposal" that will be voted and approved, Just take into consideration that we are in a process of releaing Airflow 3 with a number of discussed and approved proposals (See https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AIRFLOW/Airflow+3.0) - so any discussion around changing heavily how users can interact with DAGs / author the dags is not likely to get people involved in the next 3 months or so - becase they are busy to deliver changes agreed already - not commenting on more new changes coming - so you might be better in helping first in any of the voted changes there and once you show that you understanding Arflow internals might help you to prepare a good discussion for new feature.
