That needs some checking to see how it behaves. The current bare clone and checkout from that approach uses one full clone then each check out based off the only uses kb more than a bare checkout, but means that subsequent versions are (might be) quicker to clone as they don't need to make any network requests -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
