Closing — superseded by #67118, which implements the same pattern at the right layer (provider-side `ResumableJobMixin` on `apache-spark`) on top of AIP-103 `task_state`. The demo here was a discussion artifact for the AIP-96 v2 framing; that framing has been revised (see #66402 closure).
